Each PlasmaRoute CNC Router Table comes standard with either a Porter Cable or Milwaukee router motor (see below).  For most routing applications, a good router motor, like the Porter Cable and Milwaukee routers we feature (and use!) here at PlasmaRoute, is all you need.  But some situations require a heavy-duty router with more power, higher precision, and the ability to withstand continuous use in a more industrial setting.  This is where the spindle comes in.  Colombo High Frequency Spindles offer a level of power, durability, and precision that even “good” router motors can’t beat...and they're quieter, too! Colombo Spindles require a variable frequency drive (VFD), as listed below.

---------------------------------------------------- Columbo HF Spindles & VFD All our Columbo spindles come complete with their own VFD (variable freq.drive) to match your power.  When it comes to the utmost in High-Precison you can not beat the precision that these High-Speed spindles will deliver.  The main difference between a standard router and a Colombo is the tolerance on the run out in the high-precision ceramic bearings.  With this setup there is vertually no run-out or "wobble" in the bearings meaning the router bit will spin with out any variation.  These spindles also allow you to control the speed thru the software interface, and they also run much quiter than a standard router.  Don't miss out on outfitting your PlasmaRoute CNC Router Table with nothing but the Best!
